I – Intentional

Have you ever wondered where the day went? You look up and suddenly it is evening, and the day has seemingly disappeared. How does that happen? Where does time go? Habits are the most difficult to form and the easiest to break, but they are necessary for you to command your day and make sure that you have gotten the most out of it that you possibly can.

So, what are habits? More importantly, what are habits that allow you to optimize your time and complete your goals? Anyone can take command of their day and master their habits. Maybe it is stepping out of the usual routine for a second, or a change of scenery. Let’s explore what the letters of H.A.B.I.T.S stand for.

The letter “I” stands for “Intentional”

What does it mean to be intentional?

What about being accidental?

In your own life can you tell the difference?

A lot of us function accidentally in our lives. We accidentally wake up later than normal, and accidentally watch Netflix for 5 hours and wonder where time has gone. We accidentally eat junk food instead of well-rounded meals, or we accidentally didn’t go on the run that we told ourselves that we would go on.

There are so many things in life that can cause distraction and help promote accidental living over intentional living. Being Intentional means setting aside time to be productive. Your intentional day will look very different than a friend’s, a significant other’s, or a coworker’s intentional day will look like but experimenting to find what works best for you to get what you need to get done through the week.

To be intentional means that you have to put forward the effort to carve out that time in order to complete the tasks ahead of you. This is something that you are capable of. Once you get set in a very accidental mindset it can seem hard to get out of. Be intentional about make space so that good habits have time and space to cultivate.
